i did want to tell you i just used auto duck to convert a show i offlined on FCP to Avid Nitris, with a very successful online; it was a Frontline episode which will air in the fall. The conversion was pretty bulletproof; it took longer to get the thumb drive with the sequence on it to mount on the avid than it did to convert the pix locked sequence. Thanks for making it seamless!

The duck rocks! I am using Pro Import Cmb to send Premiere files to Combustion on the PC. This is saving me 3 hours of work on each 5 minute timeline, as I used to have to move projects manually. I used to have to subtract in and out points in Premiere from the clip head frame, then factor speed changes, then manually import each clip and enter the in and out in Combustion. After all that, I didn't have the clip handles that I get automaticduckly from the duck. Thanks for helping me get to the fun part fast!

When we started our project we chose Adobe Premiere Pro for features that we know to be available in other NLE systems. At first we were not planning on doing a sound mix using Pro Tools but when the decision was made so late into post production we had to come up with a way for Adobe Premiere Pro to be able to talk with Pro Tools. After considering reassembling in another NLE we were introduced to Automatic Duck's Pro Export PPro. Once the file was installed the OMF export went smother than imagined and imported into Pro Tools without any problems. With this plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro I now have very little reason to use another NLE due to its integration with nearly every program available.

We had a rough-cut of our documentary using Premiere Pro but when we realized that we actually had a fine-cut on our hands, it was a pleasant surprise. The benefit of Pro Export PPro became self-evident to me when I was recently required to provide separate audio tracks from my Premiere Pro timeline to a Dolby licensed audio facility for use in a cinema commercial. The Dolby Surround Sound requirement is separate (mono) tracks. Export was a one step operation and it worked perfectly.

As much as Premiere has tried to make their audio features better in Pro 1.5, it still doesn't come anywhere close to the functionality and ease of use of Sonar. Now I can use a program I'm 100% comfortable with for my audio processing, which is going to save me a ton of time, and will make everything sound better. Plus, now I can use my library of DX plugins, which I couldn't do with Premiere!

I HIGHLY recommend AutoDuck. I've done many projects where I offline on Avid and online in FCP with the Duck- it's way smoother than offlining on FCP and using Media Mangler to uprez on the same box. Go figure.

Running Combustion on my Avid Symphony was always a great way to increase my creative capability, but I would never have thought to offer it with clients in the room.

Now I can, Pro Import Cmb allows me to switch over with very little effort. My existing Avid media is recognized by Combustion and I am off and running to create, Integrate in 3D space, and render at a much higher bit depth than my NLE can.

it was super low budget (meaning free.... for a friend- The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players) but it has been playing on MTV2 in US and in Europe.

In our most recent music video production for the Swedish pop trio Eskobar automatic duck saved us days of work by allowing us to export 10+ layers FCP cuts to AE for final composition.
All shots in the video are effects shots with many, many layers. All three band members are shot separately. All background and foreground elements are computer generated.
Lining this up any other way would have been a nightmare.

This came from a post on Creative Cow...

I wanted to share some insights from a recent project, a spanish music video with massive amounts of keying and compositing.

All footage is green-screen from 2 panasonic AG-DVX100A 24p DV cameras captured & edited with Final Cut Pro and Combustion, & using the new Pro Import C3 from Automatick duck. Basic cuts were sent to combustion for keying, and fx ( standard Discreet keyer, no plugins) and back to FCP. After keying multilayer comps, the secuences were re-edited, color corrected & assembled (multiple sources per frame) and rendered with the backrounds (some were done in paint ). First the process of exchanging data between FCP & C* was kind of long due to the lenght of the clips and linking issues with OMF, but after some tests & having all footage in both machines all went smooth and fast.
Happy times for a freelancer!
